At the Downtown Athletic Club, we want every member and guest to feel comfortable the moment they step off the gym floor and into the locker room. That takes a little structure. Here’s how we set up our locker rooms and what we ask of everyone who uses them.
Members ages 16+ use our adult locker rooms, which keeps that space consistent and comfortable for our adult membership. Down on the Lower Level, we offer Junior and Family Locker Rooms for members ages 0-15, along with families getting ready together. Please place towels in the bins when you’re done, and wear appropriate attire throughout your visit. On Sundays, families can use designated areas of the adult locker rooms together. Kids just need to stay within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian and treat other members with respect. This family access covers the Men’s Locker Room and the lower level of the Women’s Locker Room. We reserve the upper Women’s Locker Room for adults only.
Supervision matters throughout the Club, not just in the locker room. Kids ages 0-13 need a responsible adult with them anywhere in the building. Members ages 14+ can use the Club on their own. Want the full picture on age access, waivers, and everything else that goes into a youth membership at the DAC? Our Youth Membership + Facility Policies post walks through it in detail.
A few house rules keep the locker rooms pleasant for everyone. We don’t allow cell phones, including cameras and video, in the locker rooms, steam rooms, or saunas. No exceptions. Please put towels and personal items in the bins provided, and help us keep the space tidy. Dry off on tiled floors before walking onto any carpet. Be courteous when sharing spaces like the sauna and steam room. We’re all sharing close quarters, so a little consideration goes a long way: keep noise down, be mindful of fragrance sensitivities, and treat shared amenities the way you’d want to find them.
On the amenities side, we offer free day-use lockers, and we clear them out each night. We also offer monthly locker rentals that include laundry service, in case you’d rather not carry gear back and forth. Every locker room includes showers, sinks, personal care basics (shampoo, body wash, cotton tips, and dryers), so you can get in, get changed, and get on with your day.
The pool areas carry their own age and supervision guidelines. Kids ages 0-13 need direct adult supervision in the aquatics areas, and everyone showers before getting in the pool.
If you’re ever unsure how any of this applies to you or your family, just ask our Club Rep. team. A little cooperation from all of us keeps the DAC locker rooms safe, respectful, and comfortable for every member and guest who walks through the door.

The Downtown Athletic Club (DAC) has been Eugene’s locally owned, family-operated health club for over 40 years. Under one roof you’ll find a full Gymnasium, Cardio + Strength Floor, Group Exercise classes, a Lap Pool, warm-water therapy pool, Downtown Pilates Studio, The ZONE training program, Newberry Preschool, KidStop Daycare, and Zest Kitchen + Bar on our third floor. Locally owned means we get to build a club around the community we’ve built, and continue to build.
Ready to experience it for yourself? Enjoy a complimentary guest pass and come see why so many Eugene families call the DAC home. We’re located at 999 Willamette St, Eugene, OR 97401. Give us a call at 541-484-4011 anytime.
