If your child has finished swim lessons at the Downtown Athletic Club, you might be wondering what comes next. On Thursday, 11/5, we’re hosting a one-time Pre-Competition Pop-Up Class, and it’s designed for exactly that moment. This is your chance to see what building stroke technique, endurance, and confidence in the water looks like in a small group setting, coached by Brandon, our DAC Swim Team coach.
Who This Class Is For
This class is open to swimmers (members or guests) ages 7 – 14 who can swim one full length of our 25-yard pool unassisted, using side breathing and kicking. If your child has completed swim lessons with us, they likely have these skills. This is a natural next step in the DAC Aquatics pathway.
How It Works
We’re keeping the group small: six swimmers maximum, coached by Brandon. You’ll get a focused class where your swimmer can practice and build confidence without the pressure of formal team commitment. Lap swimming is a lifelong form of exercise, and this class shows kids what that path looks like. The DAC Swim Team is an optional next step for those who want it, but this class stands on its own.
What to Bring and How to Join
Class runs from 5:30pm – 6:30pm at the DAC lap pool. Bring goggles, a swim cap, and a water bottle. Space fills up fast at six swimmers, so RSVP soon to aquatics@downtownac.com.
The DAC Aquatics pathway goes Aqua Babies, Swim Lessons, Pre-Competition, and into Lifelong Swimming. Thursday’s pop-up is your chance to see where your swimmer fits next. See you at the pool.
Members: Free | Guests: Day fee
