On September 23, we’re celebrating 40 years of service, hospitality, membership, and community, and the whole family has the opportunity to be here from open to close. As a family, you’ll be able to swim during family swim, play in the Gymnasium, plunge for rubber ducks, build a parade hat, and a root beer float waiting for you at the end of it. Here’s what’s planned.
Kidstop, 8:30am – 1pm and 4:30pm – 6:30pm
For kiddos 6 weeks to 12 years, Kidstop is open in two windows during the Open House, $4 per hour per child. Reservation are required ahead of time, and can be made by calling 541-484-4011 ext. 216, so we have a safe ratio of staff to kids. The Open House is the only day we offer Kidstop to non-members.
Rubber Duck Plunge, 2pm – 6pm
We’re filling a lap lane in the Lap Pool with dozens of rubber ducks! Kids in swimsuits can jump in and collect them (with adult supervision), or ask their guardian for help scooping one up. It’s simple, it’s a little silly, and it’s cute.
The Oregon Duck, 4pm – 5pm
Come take a selfie and high-five the Oregon Duck while they come hang out with us! Maybe you can even make them a hat?
Lobby Social Hour, 4pm – 6pm
Our Lobby Social Hour is packed with activities from our local partners, DAC deparments, and live music. Owner, Rob, is serving root beer floats, next to the bar where we’ll be offering beer and wine for purchase. A treat for you, and a treat for them.
BRIGHT Parade Hat-Making Station, 4pm – 6pm
During social hour, build a hat for the BRIGHT Parade, provided by the BRIGHT Parade crew. Stay as long as it takes to get the design just right.
Newberry Preschool Fall Crafts, 4pm – 6pm
Newberry Preschool is running a fall craft table in the same 4pm – 6pm window. Kids can take two crafts home with them!
