There’s a group of athletes meeting weekly at the DAC to train with purpose, and right now, spots are open. The Pre-Masters Group is a focused weekly training session for members preparing for an upcoming competition. It’s also a great fit if you want a group that brings friendly competition and a harder workout. Either way, it’s structured, it’s specific, and it’s for people who want more than a general workout.
Pre-Masters isn’t a drop-in class. It’s intentional training in a small-group setting, and we build every session around the demands of competition prep. That means matching each session to your training cycle, whether you’re building a base, peaking, or tapering into your event. Plus, you’re not lost in a crowd here. Every participant is working toward a competitive goal. That brings a shared energy you won’t find in a general class. And because you show up every week with the same people, the accountability builds itself in.
So who is this for? If you have a competition, race, or event on the calendar, we built this group for you. Even if you’re just thinking about entering one, the same goes. You don’t have to be an elite athlete, but you do have to be serious about your goal. That means strength athletes training for a meet or challenge. Endurance athletes like runners, cyclists, and rowers building race-ready fitness count too. So do recreational competitors entering their first event who want real structure. Same for returning athletes working their way back to competitive form after a break.
Here’s the thing: if you’ve been training on your own, you might wonder whether it’s actually paying off. Training alongside others with the same focus is one of the fastest ways to find out. Solo training can take you far. But coaches who work with competitive athletes at every level agree on one thing. Structured small-group training adds something you simply can’t replicate alone. For one, real-time feedback keeps you honest about form and effort on the days it’s tempting to let something slide. For another, training through the same phases together reduces the isolation of peaking. Everyone in the room knows exactly what the week ahead feels like. And then there’s the good kind of community pressure, the kind that raises the floor. On the days you’d talk yourself into a soft session, the group keeps you honest instead.
The DAC has always believed fitness is more sustainable when it happens in community. That’s especially true when the stakes feel higher.
