Your June Guide to the Downtown Athletic Club

June in Eugene has a way of making you want to move. The days stretch out, the evenings stay light, and the energy around downtown shifts in a way that’s hard to describe but easy to feel. If you’ve been looking for a reason to build some momentum this summer, there’s a lot happening at the Club worth knowing about.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up this month.

Run Club: Every Monday, 12:15pm – 1:15pm

Run Club is back, and Monday afternoons at the Club are a little better for it. Personal Trainer and group instructor Kate Smith leads a 60-minute session each Monday, starting with a warmup and cool-down on the turf before heading out for a 5K around downtown Eugene.

It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from. Whether you’re working back into a routine or just want to run with other people for once, there’s a spot for you. Run Club meets every Monday at 12:15pm and runs through the season.

Summer Camp and the Swim Team: Both Starting 6/15

Two big programs for families kick off on the same day, June 15.

DAC Summer Camp runs weekdays from 8am – 4pm for kids ages 6–12, and continues through 8/28. The staff at camp knows the Club well, and they know how to keep a summer day moving in the right direction. Eleven weeks. Experienced, consistent coaches. Worth registering sooner than later.

The DAC Summer League Swim Team is a new developmental program for swimmers ages 6–14 who are ready for something beyond swim lessons. Coach Geeta leads practice every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The focus is on building confidence, friendships, and skills in the water. Founding team spots are limited.

Bingo at Zest with Ty Connor | 6/18, 6pm – 7:30pm

Bingo at Zest is one of those nights where you show up planning to stay for an hour and end up staying for two. Ty Connor runs the wheel, cards are $1 each, the prizes are real, and happy hour starts at 4pm if you want to ease into it.

Date night, family night, a reason to drag your work friend downtown: whatever the occasion, Thursday the 18th works.

Rooftop Member Social at Zest | 6/28, 4pm – 7pm

The Rooftop BBQ is happening Sunday, June 28 from 4pm – 7pm. Buffet dinner on the rooftop at Zest, drinks, and a raffle with a couple of genuinely good prizes: two Duck Football tickets to the 9/5 game, and a private two-hour Pickleball Party for up to 15 people.

Every ticket purchase includes one raffle entry automatically.

A note if you’ve been putting it off: early bird pricing expires today, June 8. After tonight, the first drink and bonus raffle ticket that come with early bird tickets go away.

Adults: $30 | Kids 13 and under: $15

Kids tickets include childcare and food. To book childcare, email marketing@downtownac.com.

New to the Club? There’s a Good Time to Start.

Summer is one of the better times to check out the Club for the first time. The building is 100,000 square feet built across several of downtown Eugene buildings, including the 1910 Ax Billy Department Store (on the National Historic Register) and the 1905 Rex Theater. The facilities include a lap pool, warm water fitness pool, full weight room, cardio floor, six racquetball courts, a regulation basketball court, Pilates studio, sauna and steam rooms, and more. Locally owned and operated by the Bennett family since 1985.

First-time guests can schedule a complimentary guest pass to try it out.
