October Recipe: Pumpkin Spice Latte
Skip the coffee shop line this week and try your own PSL!
1 cup your choice of milk
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons maple syrup
¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice extract
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup strongly brewed hot coffee
For the stove top: Combine the milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice extract and vanilla in a saucepan and heat until bubbling around the edge.
For the microwave: In a microwave safe bowl, combine the milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Cover the bowl with a plate and microwave until hot (about 1-2 minutes depending on the microwave).
Pour the heated mixture into a blender (or use a milk frother) until the mixture is foamy. Pour the hot coffee into a mug and add the foamed pumpkin milk. Enjoy!
*The pumpkin pie extract keeps the drink from being grainy.
