A New Year’s Tradition at the DAC

Start the New Year with a splash at the Downtown Athletic Club as we welcome Coach Scott Kerr for his Annual New Year’s Day Masters Swim Practice on Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 8am to 10am. This event is a long-standing DAC tradition and a refreshing way to begin the year. Scott will lead a special themed workout built around the number 2026, using creative sets and fun challenges to motivate swimmers from the moment they enter the water. His sessions are known for thoughtful design, steady pacing, and an encouraging atmosphere that helps swimmers start the year feeling energized.

What to Expect in the Water

The practice takes place in the DAC Lap Pool, which will be reserved exclusively for Masters Swim participants during the workout. The Club will be open from 7am to 2pm on New Year’s Day, giving swimmers time to warm up, cool down, or simply enjoy the space before and after practice. This session welcomes swimmers of all fitness levels and stroke techniques. It is a great opportunity for returning Masters participants and newcomers alike, offering a structured workout that can be adjusted to match your comfort and skill level.
