Swimming & Safety
Swimming is part of the camp day, and a certified lifeguard is on duty during swim activities. Children who want to swim without a life vest must pass the DAC swim safety test. The test includes one minute of treading water and swimming 25 yards unassisted without goggles. If a child does not pass, the DAC asks families to send a properly fitted life vest so they can still participate safely.
Our camp staff also go through an extensive hiring and training process, including reference checks, background checks, CPR and First Aid certification, and regular health and safety drills.
