DESCRIPTION:Start the new year with a splash! We’re excited for Scott Kerr to host his Annual New Year’s Day Masters Swim Practice on Thursday\, 1/1 from 8am –10am. Due to the Ducks football game starting at 9am\, Scott will post the workout on the whiteboard at 7am; however\, the practice itself will still take place from 8am – 10am as scheduled. \nAs always\, Scott will lead a special themed workout built around the number 2026 – including creative sets using these digits\, and more fun challenges to kick off the year. During practice\, the Lap Pool will be reserved exclusively for Masters Swim participants. DESCRIPTION:Dragon boating is a team activity in a large canoe-like vessel where the team paddles in unison towards the 250 meter finish line. Our poolside Dragon Boat Clinic is designed for absolute beginners\, so don’t worry if you’ve never paddled before. \nThe three instructors\, Leah Gaskins\, Julie Bryant\, and Alison Kaiser\, are seasoned and trained athletes with over 20 years experience combined. Julie is a fully certified coach and founder of the Unsinkable Warriors Dragon Boat Team in Salem. The Unsinkable Warriors team is celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year\, and is completely made up of cancer (warriors) survivors. \nThis clinic is taking place in the Lap Pool on Saturday\, 3/22 from 10am – 12pm. DESCRIPTION:The DAC is thrilled to host two time slots in January for the annual U.S. Masters Swimming Virtual Championship! The objective is to see how far you can swim in one hour\, as well as compare to fellow Masters swimmers nationwide. Once you’re registered with U.S. Masters Swimming and have reserved your lane\, we’ll provide the counters\, timers and Coach Scott Kerr to support your swim and officiate. We are going to have two people per lane swimming at one time.* We have capacity for a total of 12 swimmers\, 6 swimmers per time slot\, so be sure to secure your time and spot with Leah. You must register through the U.S. Master Swimming website prior to swimming. \nMark your calendars for Sunday\, 1/19: \n11am – 12pm \nor \n12:15pm – 1:15pm \nRSVP is required\, along with completing your championship registration on the U.S. Masters Swimming website.
