Club Rules & Regulations
(revised February, 2009)


Each member of the Downtown Athletic Club is entitled to enjoy privileges and facilities accorded a member in good standing under the Club Rules & Policies. Club Rules & Policies may be amended or established, with the purpose to assure members and their guests full enjoyment of the Club facilities. Compliance with Club Rules & Policies enable the Club to maintain its standard of excellence. Infraction of any Club Rule shall be brought to the attention of a member or guest. Management is authorized to enforce disciplinary action including withdrawal of Club privileges of a member who, in the judgement of management, has disregard for the rules or whose conduct is injurious to the welfare of the Club.

General Policies
ATTIRE
Members must wear proper attire when using the Club. Shoes and shirts are required outside the locker room and pool areas. Athletic attire, including closed-toed shoes, must be worn in all workout areas.

DECORUM
Members are expected to use appropriate decorum in all areas of the Club, including locker room conduct such as decent cleanliness practices, proper towel disposal and suitable public behavior.

CLUB TELEPHONES
The Club provides telephones for member usage throughout the facility. Outside lines are clearly marked on member use phones.

CELLULAR PHONES
Cellular phone usage is permitted ONLY in designated areas of the Club. Designated areas are the front, back and conference lobbies.

LOST & FOUND
The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Found items are held at the back reception desk for two weeks then donated to charity. Valuables are kept in a safe. Members must claim items in person. Members must claim items in person.

RECIPROCAL CLUB USAGE
The DAC is a member of FitLife, an organization for Northwest travelers. Most FitLife clubs do not require a guest fee.

DINING FACILITIES
The juice bar on the first floor is reserved for members. The Ax Billy Grill & Sports Bar welcomes the public.

POOL ACCESS
All male swimmers must check out a pool key and access the aquatic area through the men's locker room stairwell.

POOL & SPA USAGE
A cleansing shower must be taken before using the spa or pools.

LOCKER ROOMS
Adult locker rooms are for members ages 16 and older, with the exception of Sundays when children may use adult locker rooms with direct adult supervision. Towels are to be discarded in conveniently located towel bins and proper sanitary practices and attire is asked when utilizing furniture.

LOCKERS
Complimentary day-use lockers are available to members and guests. Members may rent a locker for a monthly fee, which includes laundry service.

STEAM ROOMS & SAUNAS
Saving and exercising are prohibited in steam rooms. Towels, newspapers and other items are not to be placed over sensors in the steam rooms or saunas as they will damage the heating system. All items taken into steam rooms and saunas must be removed upon exit. Benches in steam rooms shoud be wiped after use. Water should never be poured over electric sauna rocks.

KIDSTOP
Childcare service is available for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Parents must remain in the Club while their children are in Kidstop. Reservations are required. Members only.

MEMBER COMMENTS
Comments may be submitted online. Management reads comments daily and distributes them to the appropriate department supervisor. Members must include contact information if they wish to discuss their concerns.

MONTHLY HANDOUTS
Information and policies on specific areas of the Club can be found on handouts located outside the member services office.

DISPLAY OF SIGNAGE AND LITERATURE
Only Club-related services are promoted on Club signage. Publications, such as newspapers, are made available at the discretion of management.

YOUTH POLICIES
Children are allowed in the Club during family hours and must adhere to all Youth Policies. Youth Policies are listed on the Youth handout.

VEHICLES
No skateboards, bicycles or rollerblades allowed in the Club.

ANIMALS
Pets are not allowed on the premises.

SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Club.

Membership Application & Agreement
A signed membership application and agreement, acknowledging receipt and understanding of Club Rules & Policies, and all terms and conditions of membership is required for the establishment of a new Club membership.

Membership Changes
Changes to a membership account are applied when qualifications for such change are met, proper documentation is provided and the Club has approved requested change. Membership changes are not retroactive.

UPGRADE
A member may convert an Individual membership to a Family membership by adding a spouse or domestic partner to their account. (Fees apply.)

DOWNGRADE
A Family membership may convert to an Individual membership by notification to the Club (by the Primary member) of the individual who shall continue as a member. A Family membership may be converted into two Individual memberships.

Note: All upgrades and downgrades require a new agreement to be signed by both primary and secondary members. Membership changes take effect on the date that all necessary paperwork and/or documentation are received by the Club.

ADDING OR REMOVING CHILDREN
Children under the age of 24 may be added or removed from an account upon request by the parent. (Documentation of age, residence or guardianship maybe required.)

CHARGING ACCOUNT
Noncharging membership accounts may convert to a charging account once qualifications for charging privileges are met.

MEDICAL LEAVE
A Family membership that has a member who has become incapacitated may downgrade to an Individual membership. If the membership is an Individual membership, it may be put on Medical Leave status. Documentation from a doctor must be submitted to the Club prior to Medical Leave implementation. A doctor's release is required to return to active status. No Club usage is permitted while membership is on Medical status.

Fees, Dues and Charges
Initiation fees and prepaid memberships are nonrefundable. Monthly dues are assessed for all membership categories. For current monthly dues rates, see member services.

BILLING
Accounts are billed on the 25th of each month for past charges and dues for the upcoming month. Payment is due by the 15th of every month and accounts become delinquent if not paid by the due date. A late fee will be assessed against each delinquent account. Unless a member terminates his or her account, the membership will automatically be renewed on a month-to-month basis and billed as such. The member will be obligated to pay monthly dues, regardless of whether he or she uses the Club's facilities or if all services and facilities are available.

PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNTS
The DAC accepts cash, check or EFT (electronic funds transfer) for payments on most accounts. Some accounts require EFT payments only. Credit card payments for monthly dues and accrued charges are not accepted.

DELINQUENCY
Accounts more than 45 days past due may be suspended with no Club usage pending payment in full. Suspended members who have paid in full are required to pay a reinstatement fee to return to active status. Suspended accounts not paid in full after 15 days of notification will be referred to an outside collection agency.

VOLUNTARY TERMINATION
A member may voluntarily terminate his or her membership by providing the Club with 30 days written and signed notice and paying all amounts then owed to the Club in full. The member is responsible for dues during the notification period. Cancellations will not be accepted over the phone, internet or verbally. Membership withdrawal forms are available and may be used for convenience. It is the member's responsibility to confirm that cancellation request has been received.

INVOLUNTARY TERMINATION
At the discretion of management, the Club may suspend or terminate any member. A terminated member will remain liable for all dues and other indebtedness incurred prior to termination from the Club.

Promotions
Any member who joins up to 30 days prior to the start of a membership promotion which discounts initiation fees and/or dues may, upon request, receive the promotional discount. Discount will be applied as an account credit. Members must qualify for the discount as outlined by promotional details.

Member Card Usage

CHECK-IN
All members are provided with a membership card that must be presented for access to the Club. If a member does not have his or her membership card, he or she will be asked to sign in and present an alternate form of photo identification.

CHARGES TO ACCOUNTS
A member who has charging privileges must present his or her membership card at the point of purchase of any item, service or food in the Club when charging to an account.

REPLACEMENT CARDS
If lost or stolen, membership cards may be replaced through the reception department. (Replacement fee applicable)

Guest Policies
REGISTRATION
Each guest must be accompanied by a member during their visit. Guests must register at the reception desk upon entrance to the Club. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests and the payment of any charges incurred by those guests.

FEE PAYMENT
The fee for guests must be paid upon check-in. A one visit guest pass may be used in lieu of payment of guest fee.

GUEST PASSES
Guests must show one visit guest pass upon check-in and must be accompanied by a member in accordance with guest guidelines. One visit guest passes are not replaceable if lost or stolen.

TEMPORARY PASSES
Members with out-of-town guests may purchase temporary passes on a weekly basis, at a rate reduced from the guest fee.

USAGE LIMITS
Local guests can use the Club for no more than two visits per month, whether as a paid or complimentary guest. The Club reserves the right to limit the number of guests (and frequency of visits) a member may bring to the Club at any given time.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
Members must be 16 years or older to enjoy guest privileges.

FEES
Guest fees are applicable to guests ages five and older.


Parking
PARKING CARDS
Convenient parking is made available to DAC members through the City of Eugene Overpark located on the corner of 10th and Oak streets. Primary and secondary members on DAC membership accounts are permitted parking privileges. Parking cards allow up to three hours of complimentary parking per day in the connected overpark. Parking cards must only be used when a member is at the Club.

THREE HOUR LIMIT
Members consistently exceeding the three-hour limit may have parking privileges revoked.
