House Rules (revised April, 2007)
Each member of the Downtown Athletic Club (DAC) is entitled to enjoy
privileges and facilities accorded a member in good standing under the
House Rules. House Rules may from time to time be amended or established.
The purpose of the House Rules is to assure members and their guests
full enjoyment of the Club facilities. Compliance with the rules will
enable the Club to maintain its standard of excellence. Infraction of
any House Rule shall be brought to the attention of a member or guest.
Management is authorized to enforce disciplinary action including withdrawal
of Club privileges of a member who, in the judgement of management,
has disregard for the rules or whose conduct is injurious to the welfare
of the Club.
General Policies
ATTIRE
Members must wear proper attire when using the Club. Shoes and shirts
are required outside the locker room and pool areas. Athletic attire,
including closed-toed shoes, must be worn in all workout areas.
DECORUM
Members are expected to use appropriate decorum in all areas of the
Club. This includes locker room conduct such as decent cleanliness practices,
proper towel disposal and suitable public behavior.
TELEPHONES
The Club provides telephones for member usage throughout the facility.
Members may call outside the Club using lines 6, 7 or 8.
CELLULAR PHONES
Cellular phone usage is permitted ONLY in designated areas of the Club.
Designated areas are the front lobby, back lobby and conference lobby.
LOST & FOUND
The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Found items
are held at the back reception desk for two weeks, then donated to charity.
Valuables are kept in a safe. Members must claim items in person. The
DAC will not verify items over the phone.
RECIPROCAL CLUB USAGE
The DAC is a member of FitLife, an organization for Northwest travelers.
Most FitLife clubs do not require a guest fee.
DINING FACILITIES
The juice bar, on the first floor is reserved for members. The Ax Billy
Grill & Sports Bar welcomes the public.
POOL ACCESS
All male swimmers must check out a pool key and access the aquatics
area through the men's locker room stairwell.
LOCKER ROOMS
Adult locker rooms are for members ages 16 and older, with the exception
of Sundays when children may use adult locker rooms with direct adult
supervision.
LOCKERS
Complimentary day-use lockers are available to members and guests. Members
may rent a locker for a monthly fee, which includes 24-hour laundry
service.
KIDSTOP
Childcare service is available for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
Parents must remain in the Club while their children are in Kidstop.
Reservations are strongly recommended to avoid an additional drop-in
fee. Members only.
MEMBER COMMENTS
Comment boxes are located in the front and back lobbies. Management
reads comments daily and distributes them to the appropriate department
supervisor. Members must include contact information if they wish to
discuss their concerns.
MONTHLY HANDOUTS
Information and policies on specific areas of the Club can be found
on handouts located outside the member services office.
DISPLAY OF SIGNAGE AND LITERATURE
Only Club-related services are promoted on Club signage. Publications,
such as newspapers, are made available at the discretion of management.
JUNIOR POLICIES
Children are allowed in the Club during family hours and must adhere
to all Junior Policies. Junior Policies are listed on the Youth handout.
VEHICLES
No skateboards, bicycles or rollerblades allowed in the Club.
ANIMALS
Pets are not allowed on the premises.
SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Club.
Membership Agreement
All members must read and sign the Club Membership Agreement, including
classifications of membership, member registration, termination of membership
and release of liability.
Accounting
BILLING
Accounts are billed on the 25th of each month for past charges and dues
for the upcoming month. Payment is due by the 15th of every month and
accounts become delinquent of not paid by the 25th of the month. A late
fee will be assessed against each delinquent account.
PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNTS
The DAC accepts cash, check or EFT (electronic funds transfer) for payments
on accounts. Credit card payments for monthly dues and accrued charges
are not accepted.
DELINQUENCY
Accounts more than 45 days past due may be suspended with no Club usage
pending payment in full. Suspended members who have paid in full are required
to pay a reinstatement fee to return to active status. Suspended accounts
not paid in full after 15 days of notification will be turned over to
a collection agency.
TERMINATION
A member may voluntarily terminate his or her membership by delivery of
30 days written notice to the member services office. The member is responsible
for dues during the notification period.
Member Card Usage
CHECK-IN
All members are asked to show their DAC I.D. card upon entrance at the
reception desks. If a member does not have his or her DAC I.D. card, he
or she will be asked to sign in and present an alternate form of identification.
CHARGES TO ACCOUNTS
A member must present his or her DAC I.D. card at the point of purchase
of any item, service or food in the Club.
NON-CHARGING ACCOUNTS
Membership accounts with the 8000 or 9000 series membership numbers are
not allowed charging privileges.
Guest Policies
REGISTRATION
Each guest must either be preregistered or accompanied by a member during
their visit. Guests must sign in at the reception desk.
FEE PAYMENT
The guest fee for guests must be paid upon check-in.
GUEST PASSES
Guests must show guest passes upon check-in and do not need to be accompanied
by a member.
TRIAL PASSES
Complimentary one-week trial passes are offered to prospective members.
TEMPORARY PASSES
Members with out-of-town guests may purchase temporary passes on a weekly
basis, at a rate reduced from the guest fee.
USAGE LIMITS
Local guests can use the Club for no more than two visits per month, whether
as a paid or complimentary guest.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult member. Members
must be 16 years or older to enjoy guest privileges.
FEES
Guest fees are applicable to guests ages five and older.
Parking
PARKING CARDS
Primary and secondary members on DAC membership accounts are permitted
parking privileges. Parking cards allow up to three hours of complimentary
parking per day in the connected overpark. Parking cards must only be
used when a member is at the Club.
THREE HOUR LIMIT
Members consistently exceeding the three-hour limit may have parking privileges
revoked.
