Intermediate Yoga/Ashtanga Prep
Ashtanga is a Hatha Yoga practice that incorporates an intense Vinyasa
sequense with a flowing series of yoga postures. Previous Hatha Yoga experience
will prepare you for this vigorous workout. This class meets in Studio
II.
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga is based upon dynamic relationships
between breath and movement. The practice produces heat in the body to
create openness and flexibility in the joints and muscles. It also brings
a greater awareness of postural strength, length and stability. The emphasis
on grace, fluidity and flow is what sets this system apart from other
methods. Come and experience the power of Ashtanga!
Yoga Flow
Yoga Flow combines simple, focused yoga postures with dynamic, fluid dance
movements. You will learn and develop short yoga-dance phrases that unite
the internal awareness of yoga with the outward expression of dance.
Total Strength
Take your strength training to new levels. Using a combination of free
weights, elastic resistance and compound movements, this class will challenge
participants at any level of fitness. Improve your strength, balance,
flexibility, muscle tone and functional ability for your favorite activities.
This class offers something for everyone.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the physical aspect of yoga. This class
focuses on beginning yoga postures, breathing, technique, and alignment.
This class is ideal for increasing flexibility, strength, muscle balance
and relaxation.
Hot Yoga
Hot Yoga meets in a room which is heated to appx. 80-85
degrees to allow for a deeper stretch and purifying sweat. Develop flexibility,
strength, stamina, concentration and balance. This hour long class is
inspired by the beauty and powerful teachings of Anusara and Vinyasa style
yoga.
Step
Our step classes are all-purpose classes. The variety and flare of each
class and instructor makes the class fun and motivating!
Stretch
Your body, mind, and spirit will delight in this hour-long
class designed to lengthen the body. Stretch class recognizes that Flexibility
is a key component to lifelong fitness and lessened risk of injury.

Intermediate Dance
This dance-based class utilizes exceptional music and movement by creating
dances to each song. Dance Aerobics is a exhilarating workout with lots
of heart and freedom of expression.
DAC Nooners
Warm-up, abdominals, dance, stretch! U-Dance replicates the "combination"
part of traditional dance class. You will learn an entire routine to one
piece of music. Class routines change every two weeks - so we utilize
many dance and music styles. DAC Nooners is more than an aerobic workout
- it's a dance experience!
Tai Chi
In this Tai Chi class you will learn warm up exercises, basic principles
of taiji and a series of movements which improve and benefit the development
of your vital energy. Beginners are always welcome.
Pilates Mat
This Pilates-based mat class is designed to strengthen the core of the
body. The movements are simple, yet challenging! You will feel taller,
leaner, stronger and connected. The work will enhance your physical life.
Pilates mat is appropriate for all levels of fitness because each exercise
can easily be adapted or modified.
Group Power
This 60-minute barbell program stengthens all major muscles in a motivating
group environment with fantastic music and great instructors. With simple,
athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power
is for all ages and fitness levels.

Group Active
This hour long class incorporates all elements of fitness. Group Active
will increase cardio fitness, build strength and improve balance and flexibility
by using a step, dumbells and stretching techniques. Group Active is appropriate
for all ages and ability levels.

Cycle Circuit
A 60-minute interval circuit training using cycles and resistance training
with light weights. The class meets in the cycle studio and Studio I.
Keiser I & II
Keiser - the DAC’s circuit training class - will give you a total
body workout in just 30 to 45 minutes. In a Keiser class, you’ll
do ten lifting exercises followed by a lap around the track after each
set. Keiser I is a 30 minute class, while Keiser II is higher intensity
and lasts 45 minutes. The class begins at the east end of the running
track. New participants are always welcome. On your first day, a trainer
will explain to you the class format. If you can’t attend one of
the DAC’s scheduled Keiser classes, ask a trainer for the automated,
self-guided Keiser workout.
Boot Camp
These athletically based movements will let you jump, pump, lung, jog
and squat yourself to peak performance. Abdominal & flexibility exercises
will complete this hour of power!
Express Weight Training
An exciting way to get fit when you have just a small amount of time!
This class will give you 30 minutes of muscle pumping strength training.
We will be utilizing a variety of equipment such as dumbbells, resistance
tubing, physioballs and even your own body! Come join us and get energized
for your day!
NIA
NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) fuses elements of tai chi, yoga
and dance into an invigorating cardiovascular fitness program. The movements
are low impact and the choreography is simple enough for participants
of all fitness levels. |
